Well, there's not much to say except that we are bitterly disappointed that our set at the Sasquatch Festival was cancelled due to severe weather yesterday. We had been looking forward to the chance to play there all year and didn't expect it to turn out this way. Everyone could see the black rainclouds surrounding the Gorge all day and the storm attacked just as the Constantines attacked the stage. The golfball size raindrops soon turned into hail, pelting the crowd who only seem to get wilder. Halfway through their set, the Cons were forced to stop as the P.A. shorted out (never to work again). The hail and water had drenched the soundboard and, well, that's all she wrote. They closed down our stage and the other side-stage for the rest of the day and our hopes of playing with them. Sorry to all the people who came from far away to catch the show, I hope get a chance to play for you very soon. As for the rest of the day, we all trudged around through the mud waiting for the main stage to start up again. When it finally did we watched the Hip, the Shins, Ben Harper and The Flaming Lips. Not a bad way to drown one's sorrow.
Not all news has been bad this week... We had great shows in both Victoria and Vancouver. The crowds were some of the most insane we've had all tour and our ears are still ringing as we try to sleep at night. We also made a surprise visit to the stage as guests of the Tragically Hip on Friday night and the Commodore Ballroom was on fire yet again.
